Mom Saturdays

6:21 a.m.: Hear two babies crying and decide it's too early to get up. We make bottles and put them both in the bed and snuggle.

8:15 a.m.: Babies officially wake up so it's time to go downstairs to eat and play. Breakfast is banana, strawberry and french toast waffles.

9:00 a.m.: Hubby goes to do a job and I retrieve the monkeys from the dog kennel. I then put them in the office chair and spin them around a few times while they scream with delight! We get dressed and leave together.

9:30 a.m.:
Make a deposit at the bank while Ever sings to the music and the teller laughs.

9:40 a.m.: Run two miles with the babies and my lover, BOB.

10:00 a.m.: Play at the park. I have a chat with a mom and dad who are there with their 6 year old boy/girl twins. They tell me all about the local MOMs group and how I should join. I'm not a joiner, but I smile and nod. They tell me other things too about having twins and it is nice. They also have a 4 year old.

11:00 a.m.: We go to Hobby Lobby because I need to make another tutu. Instead of getting my lover BOB out, I decide just to stick them both in a Hobby Lobby cart, which in case you didn't know, are like mini carts. The babies fight and scream because they are crawling all over each other. I go to the flower aisle so that they can stick their hands in lots of stuff. Sorry Hobby Lobby.

11:30 a.m.: Go home to see hubby who is working in the yard. We play on the back deck awhile and then have lunch of baby puffs, applesauce and a hot dog. Ever and I take a nap and hubby and Ocean go to the hospital to visit his Grandma.

3:30 p.m.: We play around for awhile.

4:30 p.m.: We decide we are going to leave the house again and the monkeys need changed. I change them and then myself. While I am away they have a great time tag teaming the toilet paper in the bathroom. Ocean is whining his butt off because he needs a nap.

5:30 p.m.: We arrive at Toys R Us for one year old birthday shopping. Osh is finally asleep. We put him in his carseat in the cart and Ever in the seat. Ever turns around to rock Osh in his carset a few times and it is so cute. We let her play on some different toys and then we go to Walmart.

6:30 p.m.: We all eat at Granite City. It is delicious! The babies eat bread, grapes, cantaloupe (they didn't love it) and grilled cheese. They start having a screaming match with each other which is embarassing so I take Ocean outside.

8:30 p.m.: We are at home and it is bath time. The babies enjoy it as always! We used to do baths every other night but now we do them every night as part of their routine.

9:00 p.m.: Babies pass out with a bottle.

11:15 p.m.: Hubby and I go to bed after two episodes of Big Love. We are both exhausted.

I love my weekend days with the babies! I love how they are growing so much and enjoying so many new things. We've been working on walking with them because they have to be walking to go to the daycare we want them to, but they aren't in it 100% yet.

  1. Love that there are pics to go with the routine story!!

I never joined the twin group here because we moved here when they were 15 months old. It seemed very geared toqwards pregnant ladies and babies. My next door neighbor is actually the membership chair... they have a 6 yo daughter, then 4 yr twin girls and are having twin girls in June! (no IF anything, either... seems crazy, eh?)

I've never heard of a day care requiring walking. I have heard of some requiring potty trained. Kind of sad you have to rush them to that next step. Walking doesn't last long, though. It turns to running almost immediately! Good thing you are a jogger - you will be way better equipped to keep up than I was!
